Best price, fast service, courteous technicians! Our a/c was on the way out, and our home warranty wasn't about to do anything about it. I got a quote from Elite, checked around, and decided to go with it. They knocked my expectations right out of the park. Now it's 10 weeks later, and i had them come back for a duct cleaning service. Same results! If you need a good, reputable a/c company, look no further!
Very courteous, knowledgeable and professional technician. He approached me at my front door on time with a full facial covering, along with booties.Great service for a fair price.Would highly recommend this company for any hvac or plumbing service.
11/2/2020: Had my toilet repaired. Technician even came early! Very polite very efficient very quick. On time. Efficient, clean, friendly. They do all my heating cooling and plumbing now6/4/2019 update: Just wanted to update my original posting about elite. Once again I was very impressed with them today. I am having new thermostats installed that link up with my security system and the Downstairs one was apparently wired kind of funky. The new thermostat wouldn't work with it. So I called Elite, told them about the problem asked them if they could send somebody out as soon as possible while my security Tech was still here and well within an hour and a technician was here got up there fixed the problem and everything is now great. Can't tell you how much are much I appreciate that kind of customer service!6/1/2020 Just had my air conditioners checked out by Elite. Very friendly very polite and very efficient service.
Very helpful and knowledgeable! They always work around my busy schedule with scheduling maintenance.I’m editing my review as recently had an issue with my air conditioner. I called knowing I’ve been using the same company for years now and have always gotten a good deal. My unit is under warranty but I got bit with the labor cost. I asked the agent what the cost would be but could not give me an answer as it was up to the technician. The technician was charging me a big amount and I asked for the breakdown of why it was so much. He stated the work was a 3 hour job but he left after an hour. The part was covered under warranty but the labor I don’t see paying $100 per hour but was done in an hour but still charged $350. I did research and I could have paid less. I asked technician for a discount for being a long time customer he immediately said no. I was bit surprised by it as the company has worked with me. I’m disappointed by this. Also the part that broke down breaks down from not doing maintenance year after year but it’s odd to me that I pay for maintenance every year and it was just done in May and there was nothing wrong at that time.
You will normally need to replace an AC unit every 10-15 years. However, sometimes major issues with the system may mean that replacement is required earlier. The best way to make this less likely to happen is to make sure that you stick to the correct maintenance and storage instructions.
What is that burning smell when I turn on my electric heat for the first time each year?
When you first turn on your heat after it has been switched off, the dust on the heater is burned off. This creates the burning smell. It’s normal for this to happen. If the smell does not vanish in a few hours, you should check the condition of the air filters.
What’s the difference between a Heat Pump and a Furnace?
A furnace heats your home using combustion. The oil or gas in the furnace is burned in the combustion chamber. The resulting hot air is forced out through ductwork by a fan. On the other hand, a heat pump pulls air in from outside and uses it to heat your home slowly.
What is a home plumbing inspection and why would I need one if nothing’s wrong?
A home plumbing inspection is a thorough inspection of the plumbing and associated systems in your home. The inspection should include drainage systems, toilets, water supply, water heater, venting and fixtures. Having inspections carried out on a regular basis means that potential issues can be spotted before they cause a real problem.
Why Is My Air Conditioner Making a Weird Noise?
There are many different noises that an air conditioner can make. Banging and clanking sounds can indicate loose parts. Constant clicking can suggest that the controls are not working as they should do. Buzzing can mean that there are loose parts or problems with the fan motors. If you have any worries about the noises that your air conditioner is making you should have the system checked out.
Why should I have regular (or preventative) maintenance? And how often should I have it performed?
Regular maintenance helps to identify issues before they cause major problems and become more expensive. You should have your systems maintained annually. It makes sense to have your heating system maintained in the Fall and your air conditioning system checked in Spring.
How can I lower my electric bill this summer?
There are several things that you can do to reduce your electric bill when summer arrives. You should only turn on your air conditioning when you need it. You should also use a programmable thermostat for increased efficiency. Making sure that your home insulation is in good condition and using natural ventilation are also important steps to take.
What are the advantages of a programmable thermostat?
You can get several different benefits from having a programmable thermostat. These benefits include saving money on energy costs, maintaining a consistent temperature in your home, less time-consuming adjustments to be made, increasing energy-efficient and optimizing the performance of your HVAC system.
What type of filter should I use? And how often should I replace it?
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) suggests that you should choose a filter with a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) of 13 or higher. It’s a good idea to choose a filter with the highest rating that your system allows. The manufacturer provides suggestions about how often you should change your filters. The EPA suggests that filters should be changed every two to three months.
What is the life expectancy of my unit?
On average a basic AC unit is expected to last for 10-15. HVAC systems have a life expectancy of 15-25 years. If you make sure that your unit is maintained annually, it’s more likely to reach its full life expectancy. This is important if you want to get the best value for your investment.
How do I know if my air quality is poor?
There are certain symptoms that are linked to poor air quality. These symptoms include dry and irritated eyes, a dry throat, dry skin, headaches, fatigue, difficulty with breathing, allergies, congestion, sneezing and dizziness.
What are the benefits of clean ducts?
Making sure that ducts are clean makes good sense. This is because you get advantages of benefits including, a cleaner place to live, less likelihood of allergies, easier breathing for everyone in the home, the removal of unpleasant smells and better airflow.
What are home zoning and air balancing?
Home zoning and air balancing can be used to help improve energy efficiency in your home. Together, they involve testing and adjusting your air conditioning system to achieve the right balance for different rooms and areas of your home.
What are the benefits of duct sealing?
Sealing the ducts in your home helps to prevent chemicals and dust particles from getting in from outside. This improves the quality of the air inside your home. As the air quality improves, people in the property can breathe more easily. This is especially useful for people who suffer from asthma or have allergies.
How to tell if I have a heat pump or conventional system?
The best way to tell if you have a heat pump is to switch the unit on. Once hot air is coming through the vents, you should go outside. If you see that the outdoor unit is running then you have a heat pump. The reason that you know this is the case is that heat pumps bring air from outside in, to heat your home.
